Project Context
Hami, Xinjiang, designated as a key clean energy base in China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, boasts four of Xinjiang’s nine major wind zones, accounting for 62.9% of the region’s wind power potential. However, challenges like remote locations and grid integration bottlenecks hindered efficient utilization of renewable energy. CEEC addressed these issues by developing an innovative wind-storage hybrid project in Shisanjianfang Wind Zone, aiming to unlock large-scale clean energy integration.

Engineering Solution

CEEC deployed an Intelligent Wind-Storage Coordination System with localized and advanced technologies:
- High-Capacity Energy Storage: A 300MW/1,200MWh electrochemical energy storage system (ESS) dynamically balances power fluctuations, enhancing grid stability.
- Large-Scale Turbines & Smart O&M: 150 CSSC Haizhuang H176-6.7MW low-temperature wind turbines with grid-friendly features and intelligent O&M systems, reducing maintenance costs to 0.01 RMB/kW.
- Cross-Regional Grid Connection: A novel 750kV grid interconnection spanning Hami and Turpan enabled long-distance green power transmission.
