Project Context

    Amid the global energy transition, CEEC (China Energy Engineering Corporation) has emerged as a leader in advancing energy storage technologies worldwide. In Indonesia, where fossil fuels dominate the energy mix, the government aims to increase renewable energy to 23% by 2025.However, challenges such as fragmented island grids and renewable intermittency hinder progress. Against this backdrop, CEEC partnered with ZTPI to deliver the IKN 50MW solar + 14MWh Energy Storage System (ESS) project, the first solar-storage hybrid facility in Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara, and the nation’s inaugural mountainous photovoltaic initiative.
