Project Context

  At an average altitude of 4,700 meters, Gangba County in Tibet faces challenges of rich solar resources but fragile grids, struggling to meet electricity demands for residents and border posts. As a key “14th Five-Year Plan” energy project, the 50 MW pasture-photovoltaic storage plant, developed by Zhongnan Power and CEEC, innovatively integrates solar farming with highland animal husbandry. Challenges include:

Engineering Solution

1.Ultra-Cold LFP Energy Storage 

  Technical Points: Deployed 10MW/40MWh LFP battery with CEEC’s “Polar TempControl” technology, maintaining >95% efficiency from -40℃ to 60℃. 

  Functional Value: Smooths PV volatility, stabilizes grids, and optimizes peak shaving.

2.Smart Pasture-PV Management Platform

  Technical Points:AI adjusts PV panel angles (±30°) for max yield while monitoring pasture growth for optimized irrigation/harvesting.

  Functional Value: Annual PV generation of 102.81518 GWh, 40% higher forage yield benefiting 5 villages.

3.Hybrid Microgrid System   

  Technical Points: Integrates PV, storage, and diesel generators for grid/off-grid dual-mode operation.

  Functional Value: Border post reliability increased from 75% to 99.9%, ensuring critical services during extreme weather.
